Turner Ashby Soccer 2024-Present
Most of my work as a coach centers around the maturation of players, both as athletes and as people. Being on JV emphasizes the growth and development that is necessary to become a Varsity player later on. I aim to push players in practice and eliminate complacency. Culture is essential in maintaining positivity while also pushing each other to be the best we can be. In my first year as a coach, our team finished 1st in the Valley District.
My Work Experience
MARTINS FOOD 2022-2024
Martins taught me a lot about customer service and deadlines. I learned how to manage my time better than before and became a large part in training new employees. I also took on more responsibility than expected when a large percentage of our employees left during the summer. It required me to manage my sector of the store for the majority of the day and make sure that all groceries and products were properly displayed.
Horizons Edge 2018-Present
Being a referee has been both rewarding and an important experience early on in my life. My love for soccer made me want to start refereeing my freshman year of high school, and I learned right away that the most difficult part of the job is not dealing with the players but rather dealing with the parents. This improved my communication skills by being able to calm emotions while also maintaining my own. It also required me to stay up to date with changes in USF rules and continuously recertify yearly and take follow-up courses.
