My Voice

These samples include a culmination of writing I have done throughout my personal and academic time at JMU. They address meaningful traits and characteristics that are necessary in social and working life, while also providing a backbone of how I see and value the world around me.

  • Ensuring Proper Accountability

Accountability is essential in learning, striving to improve, and fostering connection. To be accountable for yourself, you have to believe that you are the only person who guides your fate. Accountability doesn't have solely a negative or positive connotation; rather, it's simply about how you use it.

  • The Fluidity of Leadership

Being a leader doesn't require being the sole head of a team or organization. It goes beyond appointment, nomination, or being a volunteer. Leadership means making sacrifices, offering help, going above the norm, and catalyzing productivity. I've seen many different types of so-called “leaders” in my life. Some crave attention, others want to be able to make all of the decisions on behalf of others. This is not to say that any person who exemplifies those traits can't become a great leader in the future, as I have found that the best leaders in my life are those who know their weaknesses and are transparent with others.

This was a side project done over my Junior summer. It is an analysis of teams and players from the European Championship in Germany.
